英文單字(3)《tract 拉》

tract作為「拉」的意思，如同英文的「pull」動作。單獨作為單字時有「小冊子」、「片(土地)」的意思，只是比較少用。

tract 小冊子、片(n.)

tract的「片」是用來當作單位，像是「tract of land」、「tract of ocean」等等。

A vast tract of land is ready for development.
She produced a feminist tract.

tractable 馴良的(adj.)

可以被拉動的動物就是馴良的、溫順的，拉到哪裡就會跟到哪。

attract 吸引(v.)

※「ad」接上「t」音發音困難，因此將「d」改成重複音「t」。
