英文單字(11)《rupt 爆裂 / ceive 拿》

「rupt」有爆裂、破裂的意思。

「ceive」和之前提到的「cept」有相同「拿」的意思，「ceive」作為動詞，而「cept」則作為名詞，兩者之間有一樣意思的字。

erupt 噴發(v.)

噴發即往外爆發。火山爆發就是使用這個字。

The volcano erupted.

corrupt 腐敗的(adj.)、腐化(v.)

腐敗表示整體都爆掉了。這個字多用於形容政府。

conceive 懷孕、孕育出、構想出(v.)

懷孕即在母體裡拿到精子與卵子的結果；一個人「懷有」什麼也可形容一個人「孕育出(構想出)」什麼。之前提到的「concept」的也有「構想」名詞的意思。

deceive 蒙騙(v.)

蒙騙就是把東西藏拿在下面騙過對方。

The company deceived the customers by selling old computers as new ones.

receive 招待、接收(v.)

招待、接收就是人事物拿回來的動作，和「reception」一樣。

He receives me into his home.
