補充可以想像成由下面不斷往上填充;補充對於人就是補品,對於書就是附錄或副刊(補充物)。He supplements his income by working in the bar at night.

implement 實施(v.)、工具(n.)
實施就是把空有的企畫充滿;工具可以當作用來實施的東西。The changes to the national health system will implement next year.
Shopkeeper are not supposed to sell knives and other sharp implements to children.

congest 使阻塞(v.)
使阻塞就是把東西都帶到同一個位置讓它阻塞。There is no need for us to congest the city with traffic.
suggest 建議(v.)
建議就是由下面的人提議給上面的人。suggestion 建議(n.)
ingest 攝取(v.)
攝取即為將東西或食物往身體裡帶。The chemicals can be poisonous if ingested.
If you are going to get enough DHA, you can ingest some fish in the sea.
digest 消化(v.)、摘要(n.)
消化就是食物或資訊帶到身體裡後會分解到各處變成養分或知識;摘要即為幫你消化過後的資訊。I find that I don't digest meat easily.
